ReSharper try

by Erik Lane 17. May 2005 07:44

Ok, so I downloaded and started using ReSharper.  My trial is just about up and now comes the hard part...to get my company to purchase the license.  The $150 is a little steap for me.  I know they won't just for one developer so I've passed around the download link to some others in hopes they will like it too.  Maybe if enough of us really like it and can justify the cost then they should buy it for us.  They are usually pretty good about things like that.

If anyone has any good ideas or stats to show people who sign the checks please let me know.

I can only assume that you like the tool, since you're interested enough to request that they purchase it for you. I'd be interested in some more details as far as your thoughts on the tool though. I've heard a lot of good about it, but mostly just stuff like "I love it" - without any explanation of *what* people like about it. What are your likes and dislikes. You're not interested in purchasing it yourself, is that because you don't do enough personal development at home, or simply because it's just not worth the personal expense? Just curious.

Good point Yex. I do like it and the things that I like I'll make another post about and try some screenies too. The $150 is a bit much for me from what I've used the tool for over the last few weeks. The type of things I've used so far are things I could do myself but takes me more time and isn't as standardized like code formatting as an example. I know there a lot more things to it than that and maybe the $150 is a good price for it. That's what I want to find out too. But if my employer will do it then it's theirs, everyone can use it, and we can share knowledge and experience too.
