TiVo Upgrades

PVRblog has a great article on some "hacks" that upgrade your TiVo.  I've known about these for a long while but have never implemented any of them since I don't want o mess up what I've got.  The best one, IMO, is using the web to control your TiVo.

I have a DirecTivo R10. Ordered LBA48 (vers 4.0), Instantcake and PTVnet tools. Made Isos of all three. Got a fresh 160 Gb drive (put the standard drive away for safekeeping).  Used the LBA disk first, followed by Instancake, followed by PTVnet. Stuck it back in the DirecTivo and it rebooted fine.  I hooked up a USB 200M to the USB port and...NOTHING (i.e. this looks like the same code before I did all of that and I do not see a DHCP port active and no new features are apparent).  What did I do wrong?
